So I have not been updating this tumblelog, because I am on a break… I’m writing my thesis, and in a couple of months I’ll be back.
Until then, I’m leaving this video in my place =)
Hakan Vreskala -Kurdi Nizanim
xezala min, delala min,
ez kurdî nizanim
keca, kurdan, jiyana min
ez te hez dikim
türk kürt kardes falan değil
ayan beyan sevgilidir
ayıran kalleş değil ancak
hayatın tam da kendisidir
sen silvan’ın çorak ovalarında
ben kordon’un arka sokaklarında
büyütülmüşüz bunca zaman
teslim oldum kaderime inan
dinlemem kimseyi
gönlümün eylemi
bir temenni benimki
yaşasın halkların aşkı
xezala min, delala min,
ez kurdî nizanim
keca kurda min jiyana min
ez te hez dikim
her öpüşmemiz daraltacak
ırkçıya faşiste dünyayı
her sevişmemiz yol açacak
yeni bir kozmik ışımaya
kudurup köpürseler bile
keçe kürdamsın böyle biline
sözleri şivan perwer yazdi
sezen aksu besteledi bu aşkı
dinlemem kimseyi
gönlümün eylemi
bir temenni benimki
yaşasın halkların aşkı
xezala min, delala min,
ez kurdî nizanim
keca, kurdan, jiyana min
ez te hez dikim
Whatever Fox News says is true! Whatever Fox News shows is correct!..
Repeat this 10 times every morning, and you’ll be at ease USA =)
On the 19th of January, 2007 Hrant Dink was murdered.
He was an Armenian intellectual, and the strongest voice for peace in Turkey.
What he craved for all his life started to happen after he died. Since that darkest day, tens of thousands of people stand together, march together, and demand for justice from the state.
Peoples gather infront of the building where he was murdered, every year, and remember him at 15:00 hours, when he was shot by an ultra-nationalist.
People defy “darkness” by gathering infront of that building. The darkness which “creates murderer out of babies”, as his wife Rakel Dink had put it.
This year, we were there again. We said:
It’s been 4 years, and Hrant is not here. It’s been 4 years, and the court is not here. It’s been 4 years, and they have no shame.
It’s been 4 years… and they have chairs, yet no justice.
“Nobody can hurt me without my permission.”
…now repeat it a hundred times.
From the movie “Vengo”, directed by Toni Gatlif. I cannot imagine any woman who would not want to dance flamenco after watching the movie.

This is one of the most brilliant advertising techniques I’ve ever seen =) Yes, expensive… yet, very effective. I really want to drink a Heineken now! Now.
Tomorrow Istanbul will be hosting a summit on internet informatics.
Today, over 7000 web sites, including YouTube, MySpace, Vimeo; are banned in Turkey.
These sites are censored on the basis of vague or antediluvian laws and regulations.
In the name of protecting “the regime”, Atatürk, or the “dignity of the state”, we -the people- are restricted from engaging in the free circulation of information.
Say NO to internet censorship, tomorrow, once more…
"Protection of the cow means protection of the whole dumb creation of God."
